Intelligent DAM for Modern Media Houses

A Digital Asset Management System specifically developed for publishers, currently in use by many small and large news and specialty publishers.

Our extensive experience with demanding publishing processes has been incorporated into the development of huGO+. From the initial story idea, through research, to production and distribution, our solutions support all stages of the value chain in the publishing industry. This also utilizes the latest approaches in Artificial Intelligence, such as RAG. It is no wonder, then, that they are used by renowned publishing houses for the production of their newspapers and magazines.

Driving content efficiency to its peak

Articles and issues are archived in huGO+, including usage tracking of all assets. The core system is the huGO Content Center, serving as a central platform for content and metadata. Seven linked modules have direct access to it.

huGO+ has been consistently designed for the professional planning, production, and distribution of high-quality publications. The main focus is on the task of preparing a large number of different informational building blocks (e.g., texts, images, and audiovisual elements) and adapting them optimally to each output channel (e.g., mobile devices, desktop, print). With huGO+, leading publishers process thousands of elements every day for the production of their publications in both printed and digital form.

huGO+ facilitates the efficient creation and use of your 'Digital Assets'. These gain additional value through its use, as they are always quickly accessible—thereby always ready for reuse or syndication. huGO+ also accelerates content research and offers your editorial team a collaborative environment: from cooperation with editorial systems to the compensation accounting of used content.

Case Study: huGO+

ON ASSIGNMENT AT GRUNER+JAHR

However, since any system can only be effective if its users employ it sensibly, G+J involved its employees at an early stage. PowerPoint presentations, posters, and even a video were used early on to promote the benefits of the new huGO+ system.

As a publisher of high-quality print magazines for numerous subject areas, Gruner + Jahr has positioned itself excellently in the international magazine market. However, this success does not make the Hamburg publishing house immune to the changes in media consumption brought about by digitalization and mobile devices in the market. In response to the declining circulation of existing titles, G+J has introduced numerous new and refreshed publications to better meet the diverse needs of readers. Although the publisher possesses countless content components as a valuable 'resource source' for this purpose, these components are distributed across various databases that do not work together optimally. Furthermore, the lack of metadata hinders the efficient multiple use of these components.

Encouraged by the successful implementation of huGO, the publishing group has now expanded the system to 'huGO+' with some significant new modules. This effectively links data management and production workflow. Enhanced metadata facilitates the research of relevant content, and modules for theme and page planning automatically integrate the metadata with subsequent production steps. Finished articles are systematically archived. Additionally, huGO+ 'incidentally' records usage rights and generates remuneration statements for editors based on these rights.
